The Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunters tweeted video Monday of their 10-hour mission inside Hurricane Dorian as it hammered the Bahamas with winds in excess of 140 mph.

Hurricane Dorian has started to move again after being stationary for several hours.

Hurricane Dorian's core finally is moving away from Grand Bahama, although dangerous winds and life-threatening storm surge will continue through this evening.

Dorian is a Category 2 storm with maximum sustained winds of 110 mph. As of the latest National Hurricane Center update, Dorian was located about 105 miles east of Vero Beach, Florida. It's moving to the northwest at 6 mph.

More than 800 people have opened their homes to relief workers and people displaced from their own homes by Hurricane Dorian through Airbnb's Open Homes program.

Hosts are being asked to open their homes in potentially affected areas along the Southeastern United States for both relief works and evacuees from the now catastrophic storm.

Airbnb said there are about 850 hosts with homes in five states have volunteered to offer free rooms from Aug. 31 to Sept. 16 to help people impacted by Dorian.

Hurricane Dorian is stationary as it continues to devastate the Bahamas.

The Category 4 hurricane is about 25 miles northeast of Freeport and roughly 105 miles east of West Palm Beach, Florida, according to the National Hurricane Center's latest advisory.

The storm is producing maximum sustained winds up to 145 mph, with Juno Beach, Florida, reporting a sustained tropical-storm-force gust as a result of Dorian being nearby.

Hundreds of crews are prepared to help if Dorian causes power outages.

10News meteorologist Grant Gilmore has the latest on Hurricane Dorian.

A pilot surveys flooding and damage in the Bahamas' Abaco Islands after Hurricane Dorian ravaged the island nation.

Tuesday morning, Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater loaded up supplies to continue Hurricane Dorian relief efforts starting with saving people in the Bahamas.

They were one of the first units to respond Monday as four MH-60 Jayhawk helicopters were used along with health service technicians on Andros Island as a rapid-response team.

The crew members announced they were successful in rescuing 19 people from the Marsh Harbour Clinic to the Nassau International Airport Monday, including children and elderly people.

People in parts of the northern Bahamas have been experiencing this for, quite literally, hours -- nonstop: storm surge up to roofs and winds of at least an EF-2 tornado.

Hurricane Dorian remains stationary as it continues its hours-long assault on the islands. The 130-mph Category 4 hurricane is about 30 miles north-northeast of Freeport and roughly 100 miles east of West Palm Beach, Florida, according to the National Hurricane Center's latest advisory.

While Hurricane Dorian remains the tropical system to watch, there are now four other tropical disturbances for forecasters to keep an eye on, too.

The three original disturbances were announced Sunday and the fourth was announced Monday.

A handful of surfers in Florida took advantage of the swells kicked up by slowly-approaching Hurricane Dorian on Tuesday on Jacksonville Beach.

The winds of Dorian stirred up frothy waves as the surfers bobbed up and down between them. A few managed to catch a longer ride and even threw in a couple of tricks.

Interested onlookers watched from the shore.
